Robert G Frykberg, DPM, MPH, MAPWCA, FRSM, FFPM(Glasg), is a graduate of the California College of Podiatric Medicine in 1976. Dr Frykberg went on to complete his residency training at the New England Deaconess Hospital in Boston. He served as the President of the Massachusetts Podiatric Medical Society and a Member of the Board of Registration in Podiatry. From 1992 to 1994, he attended the Harvard School of Public Health and graduated with a Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in quantitative methods. After 21 years of private practice, Dr Frykberg accepted the position as Clinical Dean of the Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery prior to moving to Phoenix. After 15 years of dedicated service to our Veterans, Dr Frykberg has decided to retire from his role as Chief of Podiatry at the Phoenix VA Medical Center and as Director of the Phoenix VA Medical Center Podiatric Residency Program. He continues to hold the academic rank of Professor, University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix and Adjunct Professor, Midwestern University Program in Podiatric Medicine. His research and writing interests have included all facets of lower extremity disorders, but are specifically focused on diabetic foot ulcers, infections, Charcot foot, and wound care. The author of nearly 100 peer-reviewed publications, he has also been the Editor of two textbooks: The High-Risk Foot in Diabetes Mellitus (1991) and the Diabetic Charcot Foot (2010). His expertise in the Diabetic Foot translated into hundreds of speaking invitations nationally and internationally with numerous lecture engagements in China, India, Russia, South America, the UK, Vietnam, Japan, Indonesia, Italy, and across Europe.

Harold Schoenhaus, DPM, FACFAS is a board-certified foot, rearfoot, and reconstructive ankle surgeon by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is a past president and current fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He holds staff appointments and operating privileges at the University of Pennsylvania Presbyterian Hospital and Chestnut Hill hospital. Dr Schoenhaus' research and clinical interests are in biomechanics, pathomechanics and reconstructive surgery, including joint replacement surgery and pediatric podiatric surgery. Moreover, Dr Schoenhaus is the surgical editor for PRESENT e-Learning Systems, an online medical education and networking resource dedicated to improving the knowledge and skills of healthcare professionals throughout the world. He is a nationally recognized lecturer and pioneer in the field of lower extremity pathomechanics and reconstructive surgery. Dr Schoenhaus has authored several landmark articles in peer-reviewed journals and books. In 2015 Dr Schoenhaus was the recipient of the Gallery of Success Award from Temple University.

Samuel Adegboyega (Dr Sam), DPM earned his doctorate degree at New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed extensive residency training in advanced reconstructive foot and ankle surgery at New York Hospital Queens/ Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, an academic affiliate of Weil Medical College of Cornell University. He is currently Board Certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS). He is an Associate Professor Department of Medicine and Surgery at NYCPM. He is the Chairman, Division of Medical Science at NYCPM. He is also the Section Chief of podiatry at Harlem Hospital, NY. He is licensed and practices in both states of New Jersey/New York. He enjoys podiatry and offers to his patients’ vast knowledge and excellent clinical skills as it relates to surgery, orthopedics, wound care, primary care, and sports medicine.

After graduating from Utah State University, Charles Andersen, MD earned his medical degree at the University of Utah where he also completed an internship and a one year of Surgical Training. He then entered the military where he completed his surgical residency at Madigan Army Medical Center and a Vascular Surgery fellowship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He remained in the military where his positions included program director in General Surgery and Chief of the Department of Surgery at Madigan Army Medical Center for 20 years. After retirement from the Army, he remained at Madigan Army Medical Center as a Civilian Physician. He has spoken nationally and internationally on Vascular Surgery, Limb Preservation, and Wound Care. He has over 100 peer-reviewed publications. Currently, he is Chief of the Vascular/Endovascular/Limb Preservation Service and Medical Director of the Wound Care Clinic at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma Washington. He is a Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Washington and the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences.

Jaminelli Banks, DPM is faculty at White Memorial Medical Center. In 2004, she received a summa cum laude BS biology and Chemistry degree from the University of New Mexico. From 2005-2007, she then spent two years at the National Cancer Institute at the National Institutes of Health completing her post graduate medical education and research studying signaling pathways in lung cancer. Dr Banks received her medical degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in 2011 and completed a dual surgical residency program and limb salvage research fellowship at Carl T Hayden VA Medical Center in 2019. Later, Dr Banks completed a second fellowship in Diabetic Limb Salvage Surgical Fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Parkland Hospital in Dallas Texas where she performed limb salvage and advanced surgical reconstruction on over 1,000 patients in one year. In 2020, Dr Banks joined White Memorial Medical Center (WMMC) and serves as faculty to foot and ankle surgical residents. While at WMMC, she has been instrumental in the development of a research and clinical residency program for diabetic limb salvage, sports injuries, arthroscopy, and traumatic and post-traumatic conditions of the foot and ankle. Dr Banks has made significant contributions to scientific literature in the fields of diabetic foot management and reconstruction.

Marc A. Benard, DPM, DABPM, DABFAS is the President and Co-Director of Operation Footprint Inc, located in Los Angeles, CA. Over the past 44 years this 501C3 organization has had over 30,000 patient visits and performed over 3,000 major surgeries on children and adults with congenital and acquired neuromuscular conditions of the foot and ankle, at its locations in Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras, and India. In the process the project’s directors have trained several hundred podiatric residents, as well as orthopedic and general surgeons in the host countries. Dr Benard is also the former Executive Director and Examination Chair for the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. In addition, Dr Benard currently serves as Director of International Service for Rotary District 7690 and chairs its Global Grants Committee. He is certified with both the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and lectures nationally in the areas of pediatric and adult biomechanics and surgery.

Elizabeth Bondi, DPM, MS is a Podiatrist at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. She graduated from DePauw University with a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology: Sports Medicine. At DePauw, she was a member of the tennis and basketball teams. In 2007, she won a NCAA Singles National Championship in tennis and was a member of the NCAA National Championship basketball team. In addition she received the Honda Award for Division III Female Athlete of the Year. After graduation, she played on the ITF tennis circuit. She then earned a Masters of Science in Biomedical Sciences with a certificate in Healthcare Administration and Management from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. She received a Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in 2015, and was recognized as a Swanson Scholar and additionally received The Orthotics Group Award for academic excellence. Thereafter, she completed her residency at the Yale Foot and Ankle Surgical Residency Program, serving as chief resident during her final year. During her time at Yale, she also completed the Bako Podiatric Dermatology Mini Fellowship in Georgia. Since residency, she has become a Fellow of the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine. Dr Bondi has a passion for sports medicine and has served as a medical team volunteer for Ironman 70.3 Waco and the Chicago Marathon. Her treatment philosophy focuses on preventative medicine, biomechanics, and nutrition. Her experience and knowledge of various sports provides her with a keen understanding and appreciation for the dynamics and movements required for athletes to minimize their injury risks and return to their sport. She understands that every patient is unique and she creates an individualized, evidence-based, treatment plan for each patient based on his or her goals and activities. In her free time, Dr Bondi enjoys training for triathlons and playing tennis.

Anthony R Iorio, DPM, MPH, CPed, FACFAS, FACFAOM, FAPWHc graduated from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in 1981 and completed a two-year surgical residency through the Veterans Administration Medical Centers in New York and Connecticut. Upon completing his residency programs in1983, he entered private practice in Fairfield County, CT. During which time he attended the New York College of Medicine and obtained his master’s in public health in 2003, in Health Care and Policy. He served as President of the Connecticut Podiatric Medical Association from 2005-2007 after serving 10 years on their Board. He is Board Certified in Podiatric Surgery and as well as Podiatric Orthopedics and Medicine. Dr Iorio is also a Fellow in the American Professional Wound Care Association. Currently, Dr Iorio serves as a Professor of Medicine, Chairman of Community Medicine, and Dean of Continuing Education at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine since 2004. He continues to practice in his academic role as co -chairman, Dept of Surgery, in Podiatric Wound Care at the Metropolitan Hospital Center in Manhattan, NY and has ventured into introducing Podiatry into an ADA-approved endocrinology office in Manhattan where he is the Director of Wound Care and Podiatry. He is an educator, administrator and clinician and is involved in several research projects in Wound Care and Diabetes. He serves on several Not-for-Profit Boards and is an International Lecturer to Mexico, Vietnam, and India. Dr Iorio is a Key Opinion Leader and consultant to several companies. While at AHMC, Dr Johnson served as chief resident in his third year. Dr Johnson was part of AHMC's back-to-back to back ResEdSummit Midwest Residency Rumble 1st Place championship teams (2016, 2017, 2018). Dr Johnson has also managed to present multiple research projects at The Future of Regenerative Medicine Congress, ResEd Summit Midwest Conferences, and Symposium of Advanced Wound Care. Jonathan Labovitz, DPM, FACFAS, CHCQM, is the Dean and Professor, College of Podiatric Medicine at Western University of Health Sciences College of Podiatric Medicine. He Is board certified in Foot and Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is also board certified in Healthcare Quality and Management by the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians. Dr Labovitz graduated from Cornell University majoring in nutritional biochemistry. He earned a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine followed by a three-year residency in foot and ankle surgery at Botsford General Hospital in Michigan. Dr Labovitz is a past president of the Los Angeles County Podiatric Medical Society and past chair of the Treasure Hunt Seminar. He has also been a consultant for the California Board of Podiatric Medicine from 2000-2011 and served on the American Diabetes Association, Los Angeles Chapter Community Leadership Board from 2010-2018 and served as President from 2013-2014.

Samantha Landau, DPM, MPH, FACPM is faculty at NYCPM in the Department of Orthopedics and Pediatrics. She graduated from SUNY College at Geneseo in 2013 with a BS in Business Administration, and with minors in both biology and chemistry. Enrolled in the dual-degree program of NYCPM and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mt Sinai, she obtained her MPH (with an emphasis on healthcare management) in 2016, after only two years, the first student to do so in the history of the program. She obtained her DPM degree in 2018. Dr Landau completed her residency at NYCPM/Metropolitan in 2021 as chief resident. COVID intervened while she was at Metro, and for her efforts there, she received Schneps Media’s Health Care Hero Award. (Schneps is a major New York-based publisher of digital and physical media, especially of community newspapers.) She also has Standard Ankle Surgery privilege in New York and is Board Certified by ABPM. Dr Landau has many publications including some being deemed original research. With an interest in surgical biomechanics, Dr Landau completed a fellowship in “Post-Graduate Fellowship Training in Biomechanics and Gait-Related Disorders of the Lower Extremity in Children and Adults" at NYCPM. During her training she spent time at the Hospital for Special Surgery in the Leon Root Motion Analysis Lab, with both Drs Joseph C. D’Amico and Cusack, and in pediatric podiatry by Drs Volpe and Resseque. Dr Landau loves taking biomechanical concepts and incorporating them into surgical applications. Dr Landau is also on the executive board for NYSPMA King Division. NYSPMA is the top organization in New York State that represents the interests of podiatrists with the state legislature as well as with insurance companies.

Bhavesh Shah, DPM, MBA, FABFAS, FABLES, FAPWCA, FACFAP, is a board-certified podiatric physician and surgeon in practice since 2002 and Co-Director of Operation Footprint. Dr Shah received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois in Chicago and then attended Dr. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in North Chicago, IL, where he received a Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine in 1998. In 1999, Dr Shah interned at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and completed a three-year residency at the Foot and Ankle Institute of Monrovia, California, in 2002. Dr Shah is board-certified in Foot Surgery with the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and is board-certified by the American Board of Lower Extremity Surgery, the American Professional Wound Care Association, and the American College of Foot and Ankle Pediatrics (ACFAP). As the Co-Director of Operation Footprint, a non-profit global organization that provides free surgical care to indigent children in India, Mexico, El Salvador, and Honduras with genetic or acquired conditions of the foot and ankle, Dr Shah performs life-changing surgeries. Jarrod Shapiro, DPM, FACFAS, FACPM is a Board-Certified podiatric foot and ankle physician and surgeon who has been in practice for almost 20 years. He is also a fellow with the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and the American College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr Shapiro has taught at Western University for the past 13 years and is a full professor and associate dean of clinical affairs. He is the residency program director at the Chino Valley Medical Center PMSR/RRA program in Chino, California. Robert Smith, DPM, MSc, RPh, FNAP, received his BS degree in Pharmacy from the University of Florida in 1983. He then received his DPM degree from the College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Des Moines University in 1999. He completed a PPMR at Hu Hu Kam Memorial Hospital in Sacaton, AZ in 2000. Dr Smith obtained his certification in Pedorthics from BCP in 2001. He completed postgraduate training with the College of Medicine at the University of Wales, Cardiff, Wales, and UK in wound care and tissue repair. He received his Master of Science degree from the College of Medicine at the University of Wales, UK in 2006. Dr Smith’s research centers on Infection Prevalence, Infection Control and Wound Care. He is a consultant to the National Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners. He is a contributing editor and reviewer to JAPMA in the areas of Podiatric Clinical Pharmacology. Marie Williams, DPM, DABPS, DHLS, is board certified in foot and ankle surgery and a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery. Dr Williams was the first clinical dean at Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine and is currently an Adjunct Professor for the school. Dr Williams has been in private practice since 1984. She is currently the Chairman of the Department of Podiatry at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center. She has been involved in residency training since 1986 and a Program Director in Podiatric Surgery and Medicine since 1988. Dr Williams is a speaker in the field of foot and ankle surgery as well as limb salvage. She has published several articles on the healing of complex wounds and limb salvage, while also authoring a chapter: Bone Infections in "Foot and Ankle Radiology". In August 2014, Dr Williams was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts along with her teammates from Immaculata College. Their team, the Mighty Macs, captured three consecutive Championships. They were considered trailblazers for women sports, and in the 70s they help bring about Title 9 and equality for women in sports. In June 2015 they received the trailblazer award in the women’s basketball hall of fame. Dr Williams was recently requested to be a Keynote Speaker for Immaculata University and received the Doctor of Humane Letters for her humanitarian efforts in May 2018.

Jacob Wynes, DPM, MS, FACFAS grew up in Baltimore, MD where he had been mentored by many outstanding podiatric surgeons. He later went on to graduate from the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine and continued on to complete a 4-year residency at the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. Dr Wynes then pursued an additional year of training as a clinical fellow at the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics, International Center for Limb Lengthening with a focus on foot and ankle deformity correction. At this time, Dr Wynes works at the University of Maryland School of Medicine as an Assistant Professor within the Department of Orthopaedics. Dr Wynes currently treats patients at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Dr Wynes remains active in patient care, surgery, and research. He is the co-director of the UMMC Limb Preservation Clinic, fellowship program director for the UMSOM Limb Deformity Fellowship, and site director for the Baltimore VA and Medstar Health residency programs.
